In this video (1 hour long) tutorial Sergey Gusev demonstrates how to paint a landscape from Norway using a palette knife and acrylic paints.
The size of the canvas is 80x80 cm. In the very beginning Sergey stains the canvas with acrylics to make the surface darker and more even. After that the artist starts sketching out with one color to set up the composition of the upcoming painting. When all is done Sergey starts working with the full palette and blocks in the big spots of light and shadow working from the central part of the landscape. After the main part is finished Sergey continues working on the rest of the painting: sky, clouds, water and houses at the low part of the painting. Thank you. |
